We went to Reed Flute Cave, which is one of the more well known caves in the area. Lots of foreign diplomats and political figures visit when they are “in town”. It was beautiful and lit up with lots of neon lighting that accentuated the natural beauty. After we left-as we were walking down the road back to the bus stop-we bought some rocks that glow in the dark!! Naturally!
Danny can tell more about why. I don’t remember.
We also looked at some other things beautiful and unusual rocks for sell and bought a book with professional photos of the cave so that the little woman would go away. It kind of worked but she then tried to sell the CD that we later found out was part of the book anyway-didn’t buy it though.
After walking around Guilin and going to Elephant Hill park where Danny fell in a lake while attempting to stand on a large concrete elephant (please see my Facebook pictures), we took a bus to Yangshuo.
We arrived in Yangshuo as it was getting dark and the lady that owned the hostel we stayed in biked to come walk us there! We tried to recreate the dinner from the night before-unsuccessfully-and unfortunately! Then we walked into what we thought was a massage place…it was a brothel! Gross!
